Dr Rita Pace Parascandalo qualified as a midwife from the University of Malta in 2000. She has practised midwifery in both public and private facilities, in various maternity care settings in Malta. Dr Pace Parascandalo continued to further her studies in midwifery and has been awarded her PhD from the University of Central Lancashire in the UK with a thesis entitled ‘Lived realities of NICU-to-home transition in Malta: The experiences of parents of preterm infants, and of neonatal staff’.

Dr Pace Parascandalo has presented her research work at various conferences and symposia both locally and overseas. She is currently a resident lecturer within the Department of Midwifery, Faculty of Health Science, University of Malta. She lectures and supervises students’ dissertations at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dr Pace Parascandalo is a reviewer for local and international journals.
