I am a linguist with research interests in language variation, English language proficiency and sociophonetics, and I am currently involved in a number of projects to gather data for speech corpora reflecting diverse aspects of spoken English and Maltese in the Maltese islands. I lecture widely on English proficiency, Linguistics and English Language study units.

Much of my ongoing research includes work in projects related to the languages used in Malta, including: CLEM (Corpus of Learner English in Malta) PAGE (Prosodic and Gestural Entrainment in Conversational Interaction across Diverse Languages) TELT (An English language teaching test corpus)
My personal research is closely focused on patterns of perception and production in Maltese English.
