SENATE RESOLUTION REGARDING CERTIFICATE COURSES APPLICABLE FROM OCTOBER 1998
1. Certificate courses are to be divided into two types:
- University Undergraduate Certificate Courses; and
- Faculty Certificate Courses.
2. University Undergraduate Certificate Courses:
- Admission Requirements: General Entry Requirements or professional qualifications
- Level: tertiary level
- Duration: one semester of full-time studies or equivalent
- Certification: certificate to be signed by the Dean/Director of the faculty/institute concerned and the Registrar
3. Faculty Certificate Courses:
- Admission Requirements: General Entry Requirements not necessarily required
- Level: pre-tertiary level
- Duration: one semester of full-time studies or equivalent
- Certification: certificate to be signed by the Dean/Director of the faculty/institute concerned and the Course Co-ordinator
4. (1) Regulations for the two types of certificate courses are to be approved by Senate and promulgated.
(2) All students are required to register for both types of courses in terms of the Admission Regulations.
