Teaching

The Metamaterials Unit offers full-time and part-time postgraduate degrees by research at M.Sc. and Ph.D. level under the auspices of the Faculty of Science.

These degrees are regulated by the General Regulations of the University of Malta and the specific Bye-Laws of the Faculty of Science. In addition to this, the academic members of staff are also involved in the teaching of study units offered by other departments of the University of Malta and supervise or co-supervise a number of final year undergraduate degrees research projects.

Given that the Metamaterials M.Sc. and Ph.D. postgraduate degrees are through the ‘Research Mode’, each student is assigned a supervisor from the academic members of staff who will guide the student through every step of the degree. In particular, the academic supervisor will provide assistance to the applicants in preparing their application and research proposal, supervise and monitor the students as they progress in their studies, and also guide the students in preparing their dissertation or thesis. Thus it is essential that applicants seek the assistance of the academic members of staff of the Unit before submitting an application so as to ensure that an academic member of staff can be identified as a supervisor.
