Discover: The Department of Gender Studies
Gender Issues are relevant to all of society, and all areas of academia.  The University of Malta recognised this in the setting up of the Faculty for Social Wellbeing (July 2012), clearly indicating that a Department of Gender Studies would form part of this Faculty. The Department was eventually established by Council in November 2013.

Bachelor in Social Wellbeing Studies (Honours)
The concept behind this degree is that students are free to “design” their own undergraduate programme by registering for a number of elective study-units (timetable permitting) on offer by the various departments within the Faculty for Social Wellbeing. These would be study-units which they consider most suitable for their academic interest and career plans alongside a number of compulsory core units.
