The brief of the Students' Charter Sub-Committee is to safeguard the rights of students. It also encourages students to take responsibility towards their University studies, University staff and academic matters seriously. The Committee, together with the Student Charter Focal Persons, will strive to:

1. promote knowledge of, and respect for the Student Charter within Faculties, Institutes and Centres
2. provide support to students and staff in interpreting the Student Charter, and in implementing it in ways that does justice to both parties’ rights and responsibilities
3. take action when there are critical issues that arise in relation to the Charter, and which cannot be resolved within the Faculty.
   

Students who have sought the help of lecturers or KSU representatives and need further assistance, may refer their problem to the Pro-Rector by filling in a form which will be seen by the Pro-Rector for Students and Institutional Affairs and the Students' Charter Committee, should the problem be related to the Students Charter.
