Course Structure
Aims
The M.A. (Theology) programme provides specialization in a specific area of theology and can be taken mainly on a research basis or partly on a research and partly on a taught basis.
It is designed to meet the needs of those interested in:
- Teaching religion at the upper school, including pre-University, levels;
- Deepening the study of the bible and the religious cultural heritage;
- Exploring arguments that the Christian tradition has opened and maintained on doctrinal and moral matters;
- Grasping the significance of current theological trends for mutual understanding and cooperation for justice and peace.
Credit DistributionThe programme includes course work (either 40 ECTS or 20 ECTS) and a dissertation
(either 35 ECTS or 55 ECTS). The credit distribution in the two streams are as follows:
STREAM A
Area of Specialisation - 16 ECTS
Research Seminar - 4 ECTS
Electives - 20 ECTS
Dissertation - 35 ECTS
STREAM B
Area of Specialisation - 16 ECTS
Research Seminar - 4 ECTS
Thesis - 55 ECTS
