Course Structure

Aims

The course has a flexible structure to meet a variety of educational needs through the
combination of theology with a number of areas of human studies. It provides a good
base to students wishing:

  • To qualify as teachers of religion at the secondary school level following the PGCE;
  • To follow a professional course in theology;
  • To prepare for church or community related work, including work in religious tourism, through the combination of theology with sociology, psychology,communication studies, philosophy, history or language subject.

Areas of Study

The course includes Theology as a main area of study and one of the following subjects: Arabic, Archaeology, Anthropology, History of Art, Communication Studies, English, French, German Studies, History, Italian, Linguistics, Mediterranean Studies, Music Studies, Near Eastern Studies, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology and Social Studies.
