Rev. Dr Konrad GrechRev. Dr. Konrad Grech S.J. studied philosophy and theology at undergraduate (B.S.Th.) and postgraduate (M.S.Th.) levels at the University of Malta and the Faculty of Theology, Tal-Virtù, Malta. After joining the Society of Jesus he obtained a Licentiate (Lic. Hist. Eccl.) and a Doctorate (H.E.D) in Ecclesiastical History from the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, a Diploma in Archivistics (Dip. Archiv.Vat.) from the Vatican School of Archivistics and Diplomatics and a Diploma in Matrimonial Canon Law and Jurisprudence (Dip. Trib. Eccl. Melit.) from the Archdiocesan Metropolitan Tribunal, Malta.

Fr. Grech S.J. worked in Strasburg, France, as a member of OCIPE (Office Catholique et Initiative pour L’Europe) and sat on the editorial board of the review European Vision. He also served as Attaché of the Permanent Mission of the Holy See to the Council of Europe. For two years he served as Secretary of the Jesuit Historical Institute, Rome, and is now a corresponding member. Periodically Fr. Grech holds courses at the Gregorian Pontifical University.
 
Fr. Grech S.J. is a member of the Department of Church History and Patrology and lectures in Medieval, Modern and Contemporary Church History. His main research areas are Christianity and Europeanization and the Holy See’s International Relations, in which he holds courses. He is a member of the Archdiocesan Historical Commission for the Causes of Saints and serves as an ecclesiastical judge in the Archdiocese of Malta’s Metropolitan Tribunal.
