Fr Paul Pace, after obtaining his first degree in theology at the University of Malta, went for post-graduate studies in moral theology at the Gregorian University in Rome. He then undertook doctoral studies at the Pontifical University of Comillas (Madrid) and wrote his dissertation on Civil Disobedience in Francisco Suarez. As part of his Jesuit training he spent two years in Tanzania, and some months in Nicaragua. His main interests are the relationship between theology and society, especially in the areas of politics (including human rights), religion and culture, and the ethics of migration. Fr Pace has also maintained his interest in the history of moral theology in early modern times, and has twice lectured on Moral Theology in 16th century Spain at postgraduate level at the Gregorian University in Rome. For the last six years he has been the Chairman of the University Research Ethics Committee.
