DEPARTMENT Fundamental and Dogmatic Theology, including Ecumenism

DESCRIPTION The study-unit intends to lead law students realize that theological reflection on the mysteries of God and Jesus Christ prove helpful to understand the meaning and necessity of law in society. In the first part, students are invited to reflect on the mystery of the Living God and Jesus Christ. This in turn, will lead to a reflection on fundamental concepts like ‘sovereignty’, ‘freedom’ and ‘conscience’. In the second part, the course seeks to elucidate that jurisprudence, politics and theology remain meaningless if they are understood independently from God and from human nature. The bottom-line of the course is nothing other than the encounter between humanity and God which positively marks human persons and their actions.
