DESCRIPTION Pre-requisite:

General knowledge of Church History

Objectives:

The main objective of the course is the study of Christian monuments to ascertain all that is knowable concerning the life and thought of the early Christians. The course deals with the concept, the history, the organization, the research, and the exacavations related to Christian Archaeology. This is followed by a short survey of the three main areas of the science: cemeteriology, architecture, and iconography. In conclusion, an evaluation is carried out on the Palaeochristian heritage of Malta and Gozo.
