DESCRIPTION The study-unit studies the theological and liturgical principles in order to enable the participants to prepare the liturgical celebration of Sunday, the liturgical seasons and feasts in the parishes where they might minister, and to incorporate the spirit of the liturgy into their personal prayer.

The ritual books will be examined to determine their operative theology, their proper execution and the spirituality intrinsic therein.

Study-Unit Aims:

The study-unit aims to:

- familiarize students with the Roman Calendar, Sacramentary and Lectionary, Sacramental Rites and other Church documents;
- provide the necessary background to intelligently plan and prepare fruitful celebrations of Sunday, the liturgical seasons and feasts in the parishes where they might minister.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to understand the Roman Calendar, Sacramentary and Lectionary, Sacramental Rites and other Church documents.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to intelligently plan and prepare fruitful celebrations of Sunday, the liturgical seasons and feasts in the parishes where he might minister.
