Scholarships to study in the heart of the Mediterranean

Lying at the cross-roads of the Mediterranean, the University of Malta has been, over its 400-year history, the hub for international academic exchange on the island. The University of Malta is the highest teaching institution in Malta and its structures are in line with the Bologna Process. The language of instruction is English and about 12 per cent of the student population are international students.

Our international students at the University generally describe Malta as a safe place, enjoying perfect weather (300 days of sunshine per year), a vibrant nightlife and an all-year varied cultural programme. Boasting of a robust economy with a cost of living lower than that of its neighbouring countries, and given its relative small size, Malta is considered as the ideal place for students to study.

Since Malta is a member of the European Union (EU) and is within the Schengen Zone, a Maltese residence permit also gives students access to multiple EU states. Tuition fees levied by the University of Malta are very reasonable. The full-list of tuition fees is found here. You may also qualify for one of the various scholarships which the University of Malta is offering, to cover tuition fees associated with postgraduate programmes for the academic year starting in October 2017.
