TITLE Letteratura comparata italo-maltese

LEVEL 02 - Years 2, 3 in Modular Undergraduate Course



DESCRIPTION An overview of literary works written in Italian by Maltese authors from the 16th to the 20th centuries. Maltese writers like Magi, Farrugia and Magri will be studied in detail. The main objective of the study-unit is to evaluate the influence of Italian literature on Maltese authors. The second part of the study-unit will focus on the influence of Italian writers on Maltese authors of the 20th century, such as the impact of Foscolo and Manzoni on Carmelo Psaila (Dun Karm) or that of Leopardi on Carmelo Vassallo.
