Activities of 2012

Confucius Institute at the University of Malta provided a tea art show to the university students.

 Confucius Institute at the University of Malta held an interesting and creative lecture about Chinese traditional painting.

 

Activities of 2011

  • Mid-Autumn Festival 2011, held on 12 September 2011.

An activity brought to light by the Confucius Institute at the University of Malta to commemorate the second largest important festival in China.

  • 2-month Summer Programme 2011.

This is a child-development programme initiated by the ‘Kids on Campus’ at the University of Malta, embracing extracurricular activities for youngsters.

This is a teacher-student activity initiated by the Confucius Institute at the University of Malta.

Chinese cultural sessions were introduced in one of the local primary and secondary schools.

  • Education Channel 22 (E22), Jan-Mar 2011.

Chinese cultural programmes were held on TV every Wednesday and Thursday at 1330hrs and 1700hrs respectively.

This was a public and student activity initiated by the University of Malta, entitled 'Discover University' whereby the Institute was a participant.

 

Activities of 2010

Historic

  • TV Programmes on E22, Oct-Dec 2010.

13 TV programmes on the Chinese culture were broadcasted on Education Channel 22 every Sunday at 1300hrs. Repeats were transmitted on Tuesday at 1900hrs and Saturday 1430hrs.

  • Malta Children’s Festival 2010 held between the 4 and 18 November 2010.
This is a two-week children’s activity initiated by the Ministry of Education in which the Confucius Institute (CI) at the UoM was a participate, entitled "Discovering Cultures-China". Click here to view the programme of events. [PDF]
  • China’s Week held on the 18 to the 22 October 2010.

This is an event supported by the CI at the UoM as part of the ‘One World Week’.

  • Mid-Autumn Festival held on the 22 September 2010.
This is a Confucius Institute at the University of Malta activity emphasising traditional Chinese customs and cultural programmes.
  • Chinese Film featured on campus held on the 2 August 2010.

This is an event organised by the Communications and Alumni Office as part of the ‘Evenings on Campus’ programme for which the institute was a participant.

  • Artistic Performance by the Xiamen University Art Group held on 2 and 3 February 2011.

An event held at the University of Malta and the Mediterranean Conference Centre, highlighting various artistic Chinese programmes, such as, music, martial arts, ethnic songs and dances.
