The Clinical Supervision Award is a 15-credit postgraduate course that focuses on the acquisition of both theoretical and practical competences and the personal and professional development domain, using reflective practice, developmental and strength-based approaches. The course will qualify you to practice supervision in a variety of formats and settings.

This programme of study is governed by the Regulations for Micro-credentials, 2024.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

Examine the therapeutic relational change processes and development in supervision.
Describe a range of supervision models, including convergence and divergence across these models anchored in the current research and evidence-based practice.
Define and outline the contextual factors influencing the supervision process including power, gender, culture, prejudice, privilege, oppression and equity.
Reflect on how the personal experiences of the therapist and the supervisor impact the therapeutic relationship.
Highlight ethical dilemmas and ways to resolve them.
Prioritise the care of the supervisee, and the protection of client and the public.

Upon successful completion of the award, you may be registered as a clinical supervisor with the Psychotherapy Board. The qualification may also support you as an already-established psychologist in your work as a supervisor.
