Applicants must be in possession of a first cycle degree obtained from this University, or from any other higher education institution approved by Senate for this purpose, and satisfy also the Special Course Requirements and any other conditions included in the Notes section, if applicable

A Bachelor degree from this University or from a university recognised by Senate for the purpose, in the areas of Information Technology, Engineering, Communications, the Humanities, the Social Sciences, or in any other area which the Board deems as appropriate.

All applicants shall also submit a portfolio of recent works as well as a letter of motivation in order to demonstrate their experience and/or substantial talent and motivation.

Applicants shall submit a research proposal aligned with their previous degree(s). Their admission may be made conditional on the results of an interview.

For the purpose of selection the research proposal is assessed by the Board of Studies in terms of clarity, feasibility and relevance. Recommendations for admission are determined by the Board of Studies, depending on the availability of appropriate supervisors.

The Research M.Sc. in Digital Games is intended if you have experience in professional game development or academic research. The course is offered on a full-time basis only and is taken over two years. During this time, you will complete a research project while taking taught units (30 ECTS) complementing your research project (90 ECTS) as advised by your supervisor.

  • Identify the appropriate research process answering a given specific question; and
  • Execute a systematic investigation.
  • Undertake a research investigation;
  • Bring to fruition a project having certain objectives within an agreed timeframe using available resources.
