Semester 2 (February 2021 - June 2021)

Students are required to choose a study-unit to the value of 5 ECTS credits from the elective study-units on offer during the year.

Compulsory Units

RFS5001* Directed Study 5 ECTS
RFS5006 Application Tools and Research Methods 5 ECTS

Elective Units Elective units are offered subject to time-table constraints.

IES5021* Biodiversity Conservation: Theory and Application 5 ECTS
RFS5003 Soil and Water for Rural Sciences 5 ECTS
RFS5004 Crop Management and Health 5 ECTS
RFS5005 Animal Husbandry and Health 5 ECTS

* Study-units RFS5001 and IES5021 start in Semester 2 of academic year 2020/21 and continue up to the end of Semester 1 of academic year 2021/22.

Semester 1 (October 2021 - January 2022)

Compulsory Units (All students must register for this/these unit/s)

LIN5063* Academic Reading, Writing and Speaking in English for Postgraduates 5 ECTS
RFS5002** Dissertation 70 ECTS

* Study-unit LIN5063 starts in Semester 1 of academic year 2021/22 and continues up to the end of Semester 2 of academic year 2021/22.

** Work on the dissertation is expected to start in Semester 1 of academic year 2021/22 and continues up to the end of Semester 1 of academic year 2022/23.

This programme of study is governed by 'The General Regulations for University Postgraduate Awards, 2008' and by the bye-laws for the award of the Degree of Master of Science - M.Sc. - under the auspices of the Institute of Earth Systems.
