DESCRIPTION | Objectives: To present to students the basics of farm animal anatomy and physiology. Contents: External morphology of farm animals; morphology of individual organs; diversity of organs between animals, e.g. monogastric, ruminant, etc, The anatomy and physiology of the following systems will be discussed: respiratory, circulatory, gastrointestinal, nervous, endocrine, renal, muscular and skeletal systems; Immunity and the homeostatic control of the major body systems of farm animals; Reading List: - Frandsun and Spurgen: Anatomy and Physiology of Farm Animals |
