DESCRIPTION This study-unit will explore the use of photography in twentieth-century art. Students will appreciate how photography has altered our ways of seeing things. Students will study the work of important photographers in the twentieth century and in contemporary art. Technical aspects of the camera will also be explored. Students will learn how to use their camera as a tool for observing and creating imaginative images.

Learning outcomes:

- Learning about the work of other photographers.
- Appreciating techniques used in the work of other photographers
- Learning how to apply photographic techniques and lighting techniques in the production of new photographic work

ADDITIONAL NOTES Range of Acceptable Students:

Offered to B.Ed (Hons) Art students.

A Pass at Advanced Level at Grade C or better in Art or equivalent from a foreign university.

Only 10 students will be registered for this study-unit including B. Ed. Art students.
