DESCRIPTION This study-unit will explore the relationships between artistic practices, education and the wider social sphere. The artistic and political agenda of certain key artists and educational institutions like the Bauhaus will be studied, and the educational aim of contributing to social change will be discussed. By the end of the unit, students will be able to understand the relationships between art education and other social, moral and political values.

- Linking artistic practices, educational practices and social practices
- Learning to discuss public art, community arts, art and social change
- Preparing lesson plans related to art, education and society

ADDITIONAL NOTES Range of Acceptable Students:

Offered to B.Ed (Hons) Art students.

A Pass at Advanced Level at Grade C or better in Art or equivalent from a foreign university.

Only 10 students will be registered for this study-unit including B. Ed. Art students.
