DESCRIPTION | The study-unit is intended to give students an overview of portfolio management using the value and growth approaches. Students will be co-ordinated into groups of four and encouraged to read at least one book from the reading list. Each group of four students will be divided into two sub-groups of two students each: one sub-group will assemble a value portfolio and the second sub-group will assemble a growth portfolio. Students in each sub-group will write a report outlining the analysis of the stocks and the performance of their portfolio. The overall mark of each sub-group will be based on: research, analysis and reasons for selection of stocks (value or growth) – 70%; writing and presentation of the report – 20% and appreciation of portfolio until the end of the academic year – 10%.
