DESCRIPTION | This unit will help student teachers to develop their Professional Development Portfolio. In small group tutorial sessions the student teachers will be able to discuss with a tutor how to develop their PDP. The tutorial sessions, spread over the third and fourth year of the B.Ed. (Hons.) course, are intended to be an interactive forum where concerns, successes and achievements can be shared. The student teachers will learn how to write reflectively about aspects of their professional development as teachers and collect artefacts which will provide evidence of the skills they have acquired. Finally the student teachers will actually develop and present their final PDP in a digital format. This PDP will provide evidence about the student teacher's practice and the thought and reflection that show the process of growth and development from a beginning teacher to a reflective practitioner. The development of the PDP will help student teacher come to know themselves as individuals and as professional teachers.
