Study-Unit Description

Study-Unit Description

CODE FDT2160

TITLE Christian Anthropology: Creation

UM LEVEL 02 - Years 2, 3 in Modular Undergraduate Course

MQF LEVEL 5

ECTS CREDITS 2

DEPARTMENT Fundamental and Dogmatic Theology, including Ecumenism

DESCRIPTION The aim of this study-unit consists in an appreciation of the specificity of the Christian reflection about man as 'creature', 'image' and 'steward' of God in creation, as well as sinner. This leads to the consideration of the human being as the adoptive son or daughter of God.

Learning Objectives:

1. To address, as one of the basic questions of theology, the question about man, the addressee of God's self-revelation and self-communication. The self-communication of God lifts to a new and undeserved level the relationship of the creature to the Creator, thereby transforming human nature.
2. To identify those features of theological anthropology that distinguish it from other anthropologies in the humanistic and scientific fields of scholarship.
