DESCRIPTION | This study-unit is a continuation of the study unit Communication Skills in German 3. The four basic language skills of reading, listening, speaking and writing are developed further using practical situations from everyday life at work and in other common situations. Study-unit Aims: This unit aims to provide the student with a better command of the German language. In addition, the unit also aims to provide students with the necessary skills to produce simple coherent texts on familiar topics, to describe events and to give reasons or explanations for opinions and plans. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - demonstrate a deeper understanding of correct German language use; - demonstrate an understanding of wider vocabulary and complex sentence structures. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - talk more fluently in German on most topics from everyday life; - read and understand texts on everyday life and texts on topics of his/her interest; - write about topics from everyday life in correct German.
