DESCRIPTION The study-unit will be tailor-made to ensure that the individual students will fill gaps through personalized attention.

This study-unit will focus on important aspects of the German grammar by means of various exercises. The participant will furthermore develop his reading competences by analysing and interpreting topics covering German societal and cultural aspects, supported by the reading of various types of texts. The study-unit seeks to deepen the ability of the student to understand more complex texts and to amplify his knowledge of vocabulary in German. On the basis of these subjects the participant will be able to improve his verbal and conversational skills with the use of certain stylistic aspects specific to the German language. Furthermore, the student will be expected to exercise his skills in communicating in German in different contexts.

Study-unit Aims:

This study-unit aims to enhance the students reading, writing and communicating skills, by deepening and focusing on different aspects of the German grammar through the various types of exercises and texts. On termination of this study-unit the student will master the ability to read and write in German by also making use of a wider and diversified vocabulary. Furthermore the aim of the study-unit is to advance the awareness of the construction of sentences by acquiring a better command of the more complex and variable aspects of the German language.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- understand more complex texts in German;
- be aware of various aspects of the German grammar;
- have better listening skills.

2. Skills:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- to have a better command of aspects of the German grammar;
- to write more complex texts in German;
- to make use of a wider vocabulary;
- to communicate in German on a more fluent and advanced level.
