DESCRIPTION | The most important philosopher working under the patronage of Lorenzo de’ Medici, Il Magnifico in the Florence of the High Renaissance. Ficino’s main contribution was as translator and commentator of Platonic philosophy from Greek into Latin. In this study-unit, we will consider his life and mission and examine his philosophy, the ‘ancient theology’, the immortality of the soul, Platonic love etc. Reading List - Ficino M.
