TITLE Liturgy and Architecture

UM LEVEL 01 - Year 1 in Modular Undergraduate Course

MQF LEVEL 5

ECTS CREDITS 2

DEPARTMENT Pastoral Theology, Liturgy and Canon Law

DESCRIPTION The liturgical reform of the Second Vatican Council has transformed our congregations: worshippers are no longer spectators but active participants in the ritual acts. As the liturgy has changed, church buildings have been renovated. This study-unit offers a companion to the entire process of reordering and furnishing the place where we worship, starting from the initial idea to its final completion.

Aim

By the end of this study-unit, students will be provided with a solid foundation about building or renovating a place of worship and will be presented with a thorough checklist for spaces, art and furnishings.
