DESCRIPTION The aim is to explain the symbolic nature of the language of the liturgy especially the language in and through which 'ritual' and 'prayer' aspects of the sacraments and sacramentals are expressed. The evolution of the way in which the Church has celebrated the sacraments of initiation (Baptism and Confirmation) the Eucharist, the sacraments of heeling of (reconciliation and anointing of the sick), holy orders and marriage will be traced as a background to understand the current reform the liturgy of the sacraments.
