DESCRIPTION This study-unit explores the basic attitudes linked to pastoral care in the context of the ministerial nature of the Church. It focuses on specific areas of pastoral care which present particular challenges to the caring community and to the pastor. Participants will be offered an opportunity to explore appropriate pastoral responses in different situations.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the Course, students should be able to:

(i) better understand the basic attitudes linked to pastoral care;

(ii) distinguish different areas of pastoral care and the challenges they present to the caring community;

(iii) develop a framework for approaching pastoral care in specific areas.
