DESCRIPTION This study unit is a flexible study unit aimed at accrediting students attending different seminars, courses or workshops being offered either by the Department of Psychology and or other entities. Prior to the enrolment to this study-unit students need to have obtained the approval from the study-unit coordinator for the seminars workshops to attend. The student request needs to be done on the appropriate form. Formal approval needs to be received before the attendance of the workshop etc. Students are obliged to attend the meetings organised by the study unit coordinator. Students are asked to produce a presentation which would include a description of the activity attended, a critical analysis backed up with the relevant literature. The presentations will be presented during seminars. All students must attend. Students are also to produce a log book of the activities attended which would also include personal comments.

Study-unit Aims:

To offer students the opportunities to benefit from other academic activities not in their programme organized by the Department of Psychology, other university departments as well as other entities outside the university.

To analyse and criticise backed by relevant literature research and other work presented by researchers and other professionals working in the field.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
- Broaden their understanding and knowledge in particular areas of study of their choice;
- Analyse and criticise, backed by relevant literature, research and other work presented by researchers and other professionals working in the field.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
- Identify courses, workshops etc worth attending;
- Analyse and criticise, backed by relevant literature, research and other work presented by researchers and other professionals working in the field;
- Develop their research skills;
- Use different presentation techniques (power point);
- Present their work to their colleagues and answer to feedback.

ADDITIONAL NOTES This study-unit is only offered to BPsy Hons Students Year 2 or Year 3, Non BPsy students Year 3 and BEd PSD Year 2.
