DESCRIPTION Course in Spanish Language, Level 4.

This unit builds on Spanish Language 3 and is suitable for students already in possession of a sound knowledge of Spanish. Through this unit, students will be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written language on everyday topics including current issues; job-related matters; discuss family, work , hobbies, interests and travel; talk about problem resolution and the past.

Study-unit Aims:

The aim of this study-unit is to enable the student to reach the second part of two of the A2 or 'Elementary' level of competence in Spanish language on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) as set out at http://www.coe.int/t/dg4/education/elp/elp-reg/Source/Key_reference/Overview_CEFRscales_EN.pdf

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Describe aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate interest and need.

2. Skills:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Talk about plans and projects; express obligation, necessity, prohibition, possibility and purpose; ask for and give an opinion on people, objects or events; interrupt speech and order; talk about feelings and moods; express and ask about the level of safety; formulate hypotheses; draw attention to something; show interest, lack of interest and indifference and express disappointment; draw up a CV; speak about job applications, interviews; make and answer phone calls.
