Event Title: The Social Innovation Challenge: Enable and Engage

Date: Monday 24th April

Event Details: The Social Innovation Challenge: Enable and Engage, which we had launched during WCIW2016 with the aim of encouraging members of the public to propose ideas to improve the quality of life of persons with a disability and the elderly. Hearty congratulations to the winner Dr John Mary Farrugia, who came up with an innovative mobile phone design to assist the elderly in their daily life, and to the first runner up Ms Amber Keurntjes. Sincere thanks to all those who made this initiative possible, including the brains and driving force behind this competition Dr Margaret Mangion, The Parliamentary Secretary for Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Ageing Hon. Dr Justyne Caruana and her team at the Secretariat, MAPFRE Middlesea and MAPFRE MSV Life, our colleagues at the Faculty for Social Wellbeing - University of Malta Dr Andrew Azzopardi and Dr Marvin Formosa, and all the challenge participants.
