UOM Main Page

The kick off meeting of the Erasmus Plus THRIVE project was held at Calarasi, Romania on 22nd and 23rd October 2018.  THRIVE (Training Hope, Wellbeing, and Resilience in Vulnerable Early School Leavers) is a two year project (2018-2020) aimed at building upon research in neuroscience, trauma-sensitive education and positive psychology, to boost the professional capacity of staff in second chance education settings so as to enhance the resilience, wellbeing and social and emotional competence of early school leavers (ESL). The project will create an innovative online training programme for second chance educators that will be applied to develop the resilience and wellbeing of ESL and enhance their capacity to build the competences required to benefit from education, training and employment opportunities. THRIVE is coordinated by IPEC Europe, an institute of adult education and training in Ireland, and includes six partners including the Centre for Resilience and Socio-Emotional Health. Prof Carmel Cefai attended the kick off meeting in Calarasi.
