DESCRIPTION The study-unit aims to provide students with the confidence and practical skills to be able to prepare for the recruitment process through enhancing their interview skills and CV preparation. The study-unit will be highly interactive and participative. It will include trainer-led sections, group discussion, large and smaller group exercises and personal learning activities. Each student will be asked to prepare a personal CV and will have the opportunity for a one-to-one session with the trainer for discussion and feedback.
Learning Objectives:

• To have a clear understanding of the importance and impact of the professional CV and covering letter;
• To identify how to write an attention-grabbing CV and to be able to create a personal action plan to move forward;
• To understand how to prepare effectively for an interview;
• To be aware of the personal impression you make and how to improve it.

Unit Material:

Appropriate unit material will be provided by the tutor during the sessions.

Assessment:

In keeping with the spirit of Degree Plus, there is no formal assessment associated with the unit. A certificate of attendance and of satisfactory completion of the unit will be provided at the end of the semester.
