Regulations and policies

The purpose of the regulations, bye-laws and policies governing doctoral research is to maintain the quality and academic standards of doctoral research at the University of Malta and to provide regulatory information for students and staff. 

There are a number of regulations governing doctoral research at UM. In addition, Faculties/Institutes/Centres/Schools have their own bye-laws that govern doctoral research.

The Doctoral School will be publishing Standard Operating Procedures for doctoral research in the near future. In the interim, we are publishing decisions taken by Senate on procedures concerning doctoral education  and other relevant memoranda and announcements issued by the Registrar's Office  .
