The Faculty of Education has one general-purpose computer laboratory situated on the second floor of the Old Humanities building (Room 325). This laboratory is equipped with networked workstations running commonly used application packages and various statistical and educational software, as well as a tutors' machine which is connected to a data/video projector and Interactive Whiteboard.

The laboratory is used mainly for lectures and tutorials relating to specific areas of the B.Ed. and the Post Graduate Certificate courses which require the use of the Interactive Whiteboard or access to specific software. When not in use for lectures or tutorials, students are welcome to book available timetable slots to use any of the facilities the Lab provides.

The Faculty of Education also provides an Open Access Study Area on the first floor (Room 224) directly below the Computer Lab. This space has been designed as an informal collaborative learning space which can also be used for specific activities and meetings. The Open Access Area is equipped with 4 networked workstations running commonly used application packages and various statistical and educational software, as well as a tutors' machine which is connected to a data/video projector and Interactive Whiteboard. Users are also welcome to connect their own devices to the large monitors using an HDMI connection.

The Open Access study area can be booked for tutorials, specific activities/seminars or private meetings for a maximum of 4 hours per day. During the remaining time and when not pre-booked, the space will be open to staff and students for private study, group work or practice using the Interactive Whiteboard. Users are accordingly advised to consult the Study Areas Calendar to check opening times as these will vary on a daily basis.
