DESCRIPTION This study-unit takes a project-based learning approach where students continue to hone and diversify their skills in project planning and teamwork. Students are linked to a setting where they will be given a task or tasks to complete under guided supervision to utilise both their Home Economics and their project and teamworking skills. Students will evaluate their experience looking at personal development and quality and impact of their project work.

Study-Unit Aims:

This unit aims at reinforcing students' skills in project planning and teamwork through offering them the opportunity to put their Home Economics knowledge and practical skills, as well as their communication, organisational and teamwork skills into practice in a community or business setting which promotes aspects of wellbeing.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
- Revise basic principles of good project planning and teamwork through analysis of personal experiences and case studies;
- Discuss in groups the link between good communication and effective project planning and teamwork in different settings;
- Critically argue for needs assessment, resource audits, prioritisation and post-evaluation in effective project planning and implementation.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
- Apply Home Economics knowledge and practical skills, as well as their communication, organisational and teamwork skills in a community or business setting which promotes aspects of wellbeing;
- Develop various communication tools to deliver Home Economics-related messages suitable for specific audiences;
- Evaluate processes and outcomes of their project work individually and as a team, and set targets for self development.
