Description 

Research in internal combustion engines is ongoing in different aspects from designing and building novel engines, namely opposed piston, free piston and variable compression ratio engines. The use of electronic engine control and development of advanced electronic engine control schemes for example for knock mitigation. In cylinder pressure measurements and analysis. Engine mapping for applications, such as FSAE competition. Turbocharging, implementation on engines, simulation and also turbocharger mapping by hot gas flowbench is being implemented. Engine simulation with One Dimensional codes, simulation of petrol, diesel and also HCCI. The use of alternative fuels in engines, namely LPG or autogas, biodiesel, HHOwas used as a combustion enhancer.
