Strategic Direction for the Marketing Department@FEMA

The department is driven by a highly motivated faculty of marketing academics.  Our objective is to increase the academic contribution to industry and society whilst recognising the distinctive strengths and characteristics of our faculty and students. The department identifies five main goals: 

Student experience and output

Our goal is to ensure a high-quality and distinctive student experience, characterised by interaction with industry and a deep understanding of social responsibility. The aim of the department is to inspire and stimulate. Our graduates are our best ambassadors to reflect how learning opportunities equip our student for a challenging and fast-changing world.

Research quality and impact   

Our goal is to make the Marketing Department a viable contributor to research and scholarship within the local community. We will do this by continuing to search for, nurture and reward the most capable academics and administrative staff, and to strengthen and reposition the department in the light of its refreshed strategy, focusing on the positive impact on society at large.


Our goal is to increase the exposure of faculty members and students to the international environment. We will increase our commitment to the International Chair Program as well as the Erasmus Exchange Program for students, administrators and faculty.  

Triple helix collaboration: academia, industry and society

Our goal is to strengthen our sense of community as part of a larger organisation and to increase engagement with our stakeholders within the university, industry and society. The Marketing Department's initiatives in the commercial and social sectors include the following projects:

Business Speaker Program: aimed at increasing dialogue among researchers, students and industry. Business leaders are invited to showcase their ideas, methods and organisations to the student cohorts.

Corporate Research Program: aimed at generating real-world research for dissertation projects and assignment projects.

Distinguished Lecturer Series: corporate event initiated by leading local firms. World class professors will be  invited to conduct presentation which generate discussion among academia, society and industry.


Our goal is to develop the sustainability of the academic programs. Our approach includes improving financial and reputation factors across our activities and promoting revenue earning courses.
