Students Visiting Malta

The Marketing Department welcomes international students from the Erasmus Exchange Programme. Students currently registered on an undergraduate degree elsewhere in the world are able to spend a semester or a year of their studies as visiting students at the University of Malta. Students apply through the Erasmus programmes which the University of Malta runs in collaboration with several universities and colleges around the world. Below is a summary of matters to consider when joining the Erasmus programme at the Marketing Department. Please visit the University of Malta's Erasmus website for more details.

Choice of Study Units

Incoming students can follow marketing study units in Semester I and Semester II, depending on the criteria of their resident universities. Students can opt for the study-units offered in the Bachelor of Commerce and Marketing programme and the Honours Bachelors of Commerce in Marketing programme.

When selecting their study-units students are encouraged to:
  1. Refer to the semester timetables so as to avoid clashes, given that attendance for all lectures is compulsory
  2. Check the method of assessment for every study-unit as no special arrangements can be made. The method of assessment is the same for both local students and visiting students.
  3. Opt for study-units which will be offered only during the period of their stay in Malta.

Library Services

Students are encouraged to use the university library.  A wide range of books related to marketing subjects are available for students to utilise for their own research. For further details, please visit the library.

English Language Requirements

Within the Marketing Department study units are conducted and examined in English. Students taking Marketing study units require a very good standard of English language skills, both verbal and written.

It is recommended that students opt to stay at the University Residences or the Kappara Residences where they can participate in international activities and meet other visiting students.

Before students arrive for the Erasmus Programme in Malta they should send all the necessary documentation to the Erasmus Office at the University of Malta
