| DESCRIPTION | This Study Unit is designed to enable students to appreciate the various laws which regulate the transport sector both locally and in an EU context. Study-unit Aims The aims of this unit is to enable students to appreciate how various transport laws impact the operation of the transport sector. Learning Outcomes 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: demonstrate a knowledge of how the transport sector is regulated and should be able to identify and describe how such rules may be integrated towards the smoother regulation of the transport sector. The student should be able to analyse and identify ways this sector may be enhanced by future regulations keeping the ultimate aim of enhancing the operation of this sector in mind. 2. Skills (including transferable [generic] skills): By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: They should also be in a position to identify areas which may require legislative intervention both now and in the future in order to enable the transport sector to achieve its aims in a modern European society.
