Study-unit Aims

The aim of this elective is to enable students explore how leadership and organisational learning can enable employees and organisations achieve personal and business effectiveness. The module will also translate leadership and organisational learning theoretical concepts into practical processes which can be implemented within organisations.

Learning Outcomes

1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- To recognize and dialogue about key concepts significant to organizational leadership and learning in the workplace.
- To distinguish between the learning organization and organizational learning.
- To explain how social, institutional, and other contextual factors affect organizational learning in the workplace.

2. Skills (including transferable [generic] skills): By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- To utilise strategies for facilitating organizational learning at individual, group and organizational levels.
- To learn and develop leadership skills as required to meet the challenges of management today.
