Academic Expertise

Apart from the postgraduate programmes provided by the department, the department provides academic services to Departments within the Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy within the University of Malta.  The expertise of the department has also extended to Universities of high standing within Europe and beyond with staff members being engaged as visiting lecturers, supervisors and examiners.

Research Initiatives

The Department is very active in research and has collaborated extensively with local and international partners on a number of research projects covering a diverse body of topics in the field. The staff within the department have published extensively in peer reviewed journals, books and reports as well as presenting their research in international and local conferences.  For more information about the research projects within the department go to our research page

International Recognition

The resident academics are actively involved in international organizations, namely, American Academy of Management, Health Care Management Division; European Health Management Association; and European Public Health Association. Additionally, the resident academics have earned recognition from internationally high-ranking universities and associations. CPD Study-Unit - MNH4001 Child and Adolescent Mental Health

During Semester 2 of Academic Year 2017/8, the Department of Mental Health shall be offering the study-unit MNH4001 Child and Adolescent Mental Health to registered professionals in possession of a first degree, currently working with children or adolescents.

Applications shall be received between the 27th November and the 1st December 2017.
