As per tradition, the University of Malta will be organising several activities in connection with Christmas on Campus. We will be updating this page regularly with any new activities that will be organised by the University of Malta.  

All proceeds collected during this year’s edition of Christmas on Campus will be split evenly between l-Istrina and Dar tal-Providenza.   


Cultural Tours

Cultural Tour of Domvs Romana, Rabat - Sold Out

Monday, 3 December 2018  

The University of Malta is organising a cultural tour of the Domvs Romana in Rabat as part of the Christmas on Campus activities. All University members of staff are invited to attend. The price for the tour is €5 and all proceeds are in aid of charity for l-Istrina and Dar tal-Providenza.   

The cultural tour will be held on Monday 3 December 2018. The meeting point is outside the Precincts Office and the bus leaves at 1200 noon. Participants will be given a guided tour of the venue. 

Tickets are on a first-come-first-served basis and may be obtained from Ms Amanda Ciantar, Room 216A, Office for Human Resources Management & Development, First Floor, Administration Building. Our office is unable to reserve places. Tickets will be available against payment. This tour is open to all members of staff at the University of Malta.

The University of Malta is organising a cultural tour of Hagar Qim as part of the Christmas on Campus activities. All University members of staff are invited to attend. The price for the tour is €5 and all proceeds are in aid of charity for l-Istrina and Dar tal-Providenza.   

The cultural tour will be held on Wednesday 5 December 2018. The meeting point is outside the Precincts Office and the bus leaves at 1200 noon. Participants will be given a guided tour of the venue.

Walking Tour of Mdina and Saint Paul's Cathedral - Sold Out

Thursday, 6 December 2018 

The University of Malta is organising a walking tour in Mdina and a guided visit of Saint Paul's Cathedral and the Museum as part of the Christmas on Campus activities. All University members of staff are invited to attend. The price for the tour is €5 and all proceeds are in aid of charity for l-Istrina and Dar tal-Providenza.  

The cultural tour will be held on Thursday 6 December 2018. The meeting point is outside the Precincts Office and the bus leaves at 1200 noon. Participants will be given a guided tour of the venue.

The cultural tour will be held on Monday 10 December 2018. The meeting point is outside the Precincts Office and the bus leaves at 1200 noon. Participants will be given a guided tour of the venue.

Inauguration & Christmas Jumper Day

Tuesday, 11 December 2018

The official inauguration will be on 11 December at 1230hrs at the Quadrangle. Furthermore a Christmas Jumper Day is being organised on the same day. All students and staff are encouraged to wear Christmas, red jumpers or even decorate an existing jumper with festive decorations. A group photo will be taken of all participants in the Quadrangle following this short ceremony. This photo will be used on various UM media channels.  

 Members of staff participating in this activity, are invited to take a staff photo and forward it to the Office for Human Resources Management & Development on hrmd@um.edu.mt so that this photo will be uploaded on the Christmas on Campus and HR’s Facebook page. 


Park & Pay 

Tuesday, 11 December 2018

The University of Malta is organising a Park and Pay Activity. This activity will be held on Tuesday 11 December.

Private vehicle users entering the university precincts will be asked for a €1 donation to park for the whole day. To facilitate the flow of traffic we strongly encourage you to obtain the parking wrist band before this day from the following locations: KSU Offices, Precincts Office, Office for Human Resources Management & Development, or the Chaplaincy. On Tuesday, volunteers will be greeting drivers at the main entrances and asking for a donation. 


Wine Tasting Activity

Monday, 17 December and Tuesday, 18 December 2018 

As per UM's yearly tradition a Wine Tasting Activity will be organised for UM staff and students on 17 and 18 December at the University Common Room at 1230hrs.

Tickets are €5 per activity and may be obtained from Ms Amanda Ciantar, Room 216A, Office for Human Resources Management & Development, First Floor, Administration Building.
