The Office for Human Resources Management & Development offers an Orientation Programme for all new members of staff. This programme been developed to assist new employees to familiarise themselves with the University of Malta. Furthermore, this programme is also useful to staff who wish to reacquaint themselves with certain aspects of the University.

These sessions will delve into policies, procedures and services available for all UM staff and also serve as an opportunity to meet other new fellow employees from other entities or directorates within University.

This programme is divided into three main sections:

1. Administration: An overview of the set-up of key administrative directorates. This section is mandatory for all new recruits.
2. Academic administration: An introduction to the field of academic administration and is therefore mandatory for all new recruits working within academic entities.
3. Services: Sessions in this section will highlight the varied services available to staff and students at UM.
