WICT 2012 is the 4th Workshop in Information and Communication Technology organized by the Faculty of ICT within the University of Malta. WICT 2012 will showcase the research that is being done at the Faculty, promote inter-departmental collaboration and serve as a further inspiration to both under-graduate and post graduate students.

WICT 2012 will focus on quality published and emerging research in ICT. The general WICT 2012 themes include but are not limited to any of the following research areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Communications and Computer Engineering
  • Computer Information Systems
  • Computer Science
  • Micro and Nano Electronics
There are two main tracks for the presentations. See the technical programme for more details.
  1. The Published Work track is a showcase of internationally published peer-reviewed papers. This track is intended for academics, post-graduate students and industrial partners who wish to present papers that have been published since January 2011 or have confirmed acceptance in a leading international conference proceedings or journal. In this case, the published paper will not be re-published in the WICT 2012 proceedings, but the authors are invited to submit a 2-page extended abstract and give a presentation during the WICT 2012 event.
  2. The Work in Progress track is intended for potential authors to present an original paper dealing with both the theoretical and practical aspects of ICT research. Submission may also include position papers and/or preliminary results.
The workshop is mainly targeted towards the following multidisciplinary audience:

  • Post/Undergraduate Students
  • Researchers
  • Industry players seeking R&D opportunities
  • Enterpreneurs

We are proud to announce four high-profile foreign speakers for WICT 2012. The abstract of the presenters can be found in the keynote speaker section.
