WICT 2012 is the 4th Workshop in ICT organised by the Faculty of ICT, University of Malta, with the intent of promoting research and applications of technologies and practices in the field of ICT. WICT 2012 solicits the submission of original papers dealing with both theoretical and practical aspects of ICT research. We particularly encourage all ICT researchers to grasp this opportunity of showcasing their work and research efforts. WICT 2012 will focus on "Quality Published and Emerging Research in ICT". There are two main tracks:

The general WICT 2012 themes include, but are not limited to any aspect of the following research areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence,
  • Communications and Computer Engineering,
  • Computer Information Systems,
  • Computer Science,
  • Micro and Nano Electronics.

The Published Work track is a showcase of internationally published, peer-reviewed papers. This track is intended for academics, post-graduate students and industrial partners who wish to present papers that have been already published since January 2011 or have confirmed acceptance in a leading international conference proceedings or journal. In this case, the already published paper will not be re-published in the WICT 2012 proceedings, but the authors are invited to submit a 2-page extended abstract and give a presentation during the WICT 2012 event.

Papers submitted to the Work-in-Progress track are intended for potential authors to present an original paper dealing with both the theoretical and practical aspects of ICT research. Submissions may also include position papers and/or preliminary results.

All papers submitted must follow submission guidelines as detailed below.

Submission guidelines:

Prospective authors are invited to submit full-length papers of not more than six (6) pages including results, figures and references. Papers will only be accepted by electronic submission through the WICT 2012 website.

Submissions must adhere to the ACM templates (Option 2) as found by clicking HERE.

When submitting a paper or presentation, please indicate whether it should belong to the Published Work track or to the Work-In-Progress track. If you are submitting to the Published Work track, please also provide all publication details (including URL, if applicable).

Authors and presenters are reminded that the WICT 2012 participants will be multi-disciplinary, so the papers/abstract and the presentations should be written in such a way so as to be accessible to a wide audience.

All papers should be submitted through EasyChair.

Further information about the workshop location and attendance registration dates will be announced in due course.

Best regards,

The WICT 2012 committee.
