Film Screening - A Sea Change: Imagine A World Without Fish

On the occasion of World Oceans Day (8th June) and World Environment Day (5th June), the International Ocean Institute HQ and Institute of Earth Systems organised a screening of the award-winning documentary “A Sea Change: Imagine A World Without Fish”. The event was held on Saturday 5th June and was open to the public, and the screening was followed by a lively panel discussion.
The documentary follows the journey of retired teacher Sven Huseby, as he learns about ocean acidification occurring as a result of climate change, and uncovers the impacts of this phenomenon on marine food webs, and the likely implications for humankind. Ocean acidification is a phenomenon which has to date received relatively little attention in the international and local media, and the film draws attention to this largely overlooked aspect of climate change. The documentary has won and been nominated for several awards, including the NOAA 2010 Environmental Hero Award.
